Sculptor and ceramist Victor (Vittorio) Cerrato, born in Cunico d’Asti (1917-2008) opened a ceramics workshop  in the Valentino district of Turin in the post-World War II years.Invited to the Italian Crafts Exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in New York in 1950, he exhibited a sculpture depicting a female bust.In the “Cerrato Ceramiche” workshop, he created unique pieces such as garden statues and fireplace mantels in glazed majolica, as well as small-scale decorative and utility ceramics,  he also created sculptured and chiseled wood panels, as in this case.
