AMELIE CAUSSADE

Amélie Caussade is a visual artist and sculptor who has been living and working in Paris for fifteen years. Originally trained as a physiotherapist and osteopath, she has a deep interest in the body, science, and quantum physics, particularly exploring the principles related to the golden ratio.

Today, while preserving her artistic DNA, Amélie Caussade’s work is evolving toward geometric abstraction. She develops sculptural series in gypsum: a sedimentary rock used since Antiquity. Starting from metal frameworks that she wraps in wool weavings, Amélie shapes volumes through successive layers of gypsum, which she sands, polishes, and lacquers until a smooth surface emerges. Like a body, the metal-initially rigid-becomes interwoven, thickens, turns into flesh, and grows welcoming.
