Albert-Lucien Guénot (1894-1993) was a distinguished French furniture designer and decorator, celebrated for his significant contributions to the Art Deco movement. Born in Arcueil-Cachan, France, Guénot received his formal education at the École Boulle in Paris, a renowned institution for fine arts and crafts.
Guénot rooted his design philosophy in the principles of Art Deco, with geometric forms, luxurious materials, and meticulous craftsmanship. His works often featured rich woods like mahogany and oak, complemented by elements such as patinated bronze and terracotta bas-reliefs. These materials and techniques culminated in pieces that exuded both elegance and functionality.
One of Guénot’s notable collaborations was with the Atelier Pomone, the art workshop of the prestigious Parisian department store Le Bon Marché. He produced a range of furniture pieces and showcased them in prominent exhibitions, including the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs.
